Description
The Orvis School of Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applicants to apply for a full-time, 12-month position as the Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, for the Orvis School of Nursing. The applicant must qualify for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor within the Orvis School of Nursing beginning July 1, 2023.
Associate Professor/Professor/Associate Dean for Research and Innovation responsibilities include proactive planning and execution of innovative research initiatives, providing guidance to research-oriented faculty, obtaining research funding, and facilitating team science across the OSN and within the university. In addition, the Associate Dean for Research and Innovation will teach collaboratively with faculty at the Orvis School of Nursing to incorporate their professional expertise into the curriculum. The Associate Professor/Professor/Associate Dean for Research and Innovation will also support the mission, philosophy, and objectives of the Orvis School of Nursing and the University of Nevada, Reno.
The successful candidate for the Associate Professor/Professor/Associate Dean should be a distinguished educator and researcher to act as a role model and mentor for faculty and students at the Orvis School of Nursing.
The Orvis School of Nursing offers an entry-level BSN program, an online RN to BSN program; BSN to DNP and MSN programs, with Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner; MSN also include tracks for Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Leader; and a post-master’s DNP program. The Orvis School of Nursing provides numerous opportunities for collaborative teaching, research and services with other disciplines in the University.

Requirements
Required qualifications include a Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing or related field, and five years of college-level teaching and research experience with emphasis in research involving extramural funding and publication. The applicant must qualify for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor within the Orvis School of Nursing, and must be tenure eligible. Rank and salary commensurate with experience and education.
