This role is responsible for supporting the development of insurance products to support our customers with risks arising from the risks presented by the effect of climate and sustainability.

What is in it for you?

We are a predominantly UK based team, but our responsibility is to support colleagues and clients globally across all segments, industries and geographies within Marsh. This includes advisory, affinity, captives, commercial, corporate, risk managed, specialty and all industry practices. We also work closely with our counterparts in Mercer, OW, GC. The team is currently made up of 7 individuals but it is growing and affords the opportunity to get involved in a very wide ranging set of topics.

The climate and sustainability team has a wealth of knowledge and we are engaged with outside bodies like the University of Cambridge and others to share best practice. It is fair to say that learning and expanding you understanding is a daily by-product of working within the C&S team.

We will count on you to:
  • Instruct placement strategy by utilizing risk expertise and knowledge of industry and carriers to develop placement solutions that meet complex client needs.
  • Develop methods for the go-to-market strategy and provide input on pricing of services supporting client retention and new business production.
  • Guide strong working relations with carriers and or underwriters to create innovative approaches to unique client needs and provide cohesive client service.
  • Audit and finalize commission structure with underwriter in accordance with client direction and agreement.
  • Achieve a thorough understanding of changing insurance and risk market conditions and inform client teams, clients and carriers of major developments affecting various types of coverage.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to the firm's product lines by active participation in internal networks.
  • Devise new products and innovative solutions that address complex client needs.
  • Lead complex placement/technical support activities on big accounts, such as ensuring procedural compliance, reviewing data and updating annual renewal exhibits, maintaining accurate placement system entries, to ensure contract execution as required
  • Consult managements on highly complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and drives development of solutions to drive excellence in customer service.
  • Have a deep market knowledge in a specific area, product line or class of business.
  • Have a general understanding of the mechanics of the insurance systems. Including, ILS, treaty reinsurance, facultative reinsurance, etc.
  • Show an organised and methodical approach to problem solving
  • Have a good understanding of the wider Marsh MacLennan businesses with a relevant network of contacts would be very useful.

What you need to have:
  • University Degree
  • ACII
  • Presentation skills (we often participate on industry panels and conferences)
  • Languages - at least one other fluent language
