
Description
The Business Transformation & Innovation Consultant (BT&I Consultant) supports the Division of Financial Management (DFM) by working to continuously improve DFM business practices in an ever-evolving business environment. The BT&I Consultant analyzes current practices and recommends lean, and/or agile process enhancements to improve efficiency, the overall user experience, and ability to provide strategic value to business partners in an ecosystem comprised of Workday, Coupa and ServiceNow, and emerging technology innovations. The BT&I Consultant researches and tests potential process enhancements available through the release of new software capabilities and advancements in technology. Specializing in the areas of financial operations and strategic sourcing, the BT&I Consultant documents and tests automated processes and creates reports and metrics to support the Board's missions. Supports user community in system configuration, integration, and report testing; process troubleshooting and quality assurance. Keeps abreast of technology advancements including the use of Analytics/Business Intelligence (BI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) process improvements based on best practices and software as a service (SaaS) innovations and evolution. This position requires knowledge of information technology, business processes, accounting practices, procurement practices and emerging developments in technology. Knowledge of emerging technologies and business trends is required as is a strong sense of inquiry.
Requirements
Requires analytical skills and familiarity with business process development and re-engineering. Demonstrates knowledge of emerging technologies and exhibits strong research skills. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills to help non-technical staff and leaders at all levels understand technology architecture, applications, and the benefits of innovation. Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related fields or the equivalent combination of training and four (4) years of related experience required. Requires one (1) to three (3) of experience working with Coupa and/or Workday systems. Understands the lean and/or agile project management methodology. Must possess clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with technology experts, business customers, and management. Ability to work cross-functionally to analyze problems and improve quality and service. Ability to skillfully handle multiple tasks, competing priorities, and challenging/ambiguous situations professionally. Must be a strategic thinker with detail orientation and commitment to providing excellent customer service. Familiarity with the Board’s compliance/legislative requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, Sarbanes-Oxley, etc.), is preferred.
